i know we have a few members who are wet tumbling their brass, so lets hear your procedures and recipes. i myself am using the frankford arsenal wet tumbler. havent used the pins as of yet.after using it for a bit more than a year now, ive come to use a 38spcl case full of lemishine along with approx the same amount of blue dawn dishwashing liquid. fill the tumbler about 80% full of hot water and let run for 45min to an hr. i then drain it and rinse, refill with hotwater and add a couple drops of armorall wash&wax, and let run for 15-20 mins. really happy with my results thus far.

I'm using about the same mixture of lemi shine and dawn detergent. I made myself a tumbler though with 6" pvc pipe and a couple caps. I screwed in a couple paddles to make the brass move around and I chuck it in the lathe for about an hour. I am using the pins now and it works great both with and without pins. I separate them, rinse and use the clothes dryer to dry them (understanding wife!)I'll try to remember to take some pictures of the housing I made and post em up.

I also use a Frankfort wet tumbler, with Maurer media chips, 0.060" in size. Some Dawn soap and it good to go!. Works fine with BPCR cases and smokeless. Also back there is a large Hornady sonic cleaner, used mostly for smokeless cases and the ever popular Midway vibratory cleaner. If its crummy, I got ways to clean it!

A word to the wise, when using the Frankfort wet tumbler with the steel pins, to clean 9MM and 44 Mag cases together; give this some thought!

I always separate my brass by caliber when tumbling so they don't get stuck inside each other, they don't get clean when they are nested.

bottleneck cartridges can usually be mixed when tumbling with no issues, but dry or wet, straight walled cases have a tendency to stick together if different sizes are mixed..

well finally broke down and tried the pins. they do a slightly better job in the primer pockets than without, but are most definately a bigger hassle.
